Executive Director
Melanie is the owner and Executive Director of Your Preschools Inc. She envisioned starting a high-quality program in Smithville in 2006, inspired by the Montessori method during her Early Childhood Education studies at Mohawk College. Melanie began her career working in daycare and preschool programs and then gained experience at two Montessori schools before opening her own. Her personal experience with the high cost of Montessori education for her daughter motivated her commitment to providing affordable, high-quality early learning programs for families.
She lives in Grassie with her husband, Mike, and daughters, Micaela and Madelyn. Outside of the schools, Melanie enjoys going for walks, spending time with family and friends, and supporting her community. She remains deeply committed to nurturing children, supporting her staff, and ensuring the Montessori philosophy remains at the heart of YPI.
